Drinking and driving charges against Toronto Raptor centre Jonas Valanciunas were dropped Tuesday.
Valanciunas was arrested in April in Wasaga Beach just prior to the start of the Raptors first round playoff series against the Brooklyn Nets.
“We are appreciative the Crown further reviewed the file and agreed there was no reasonable prospect of conviction,” said Alan Gold, Valanciunas’s lawyer, in an e-mail statement to the Star.
The Ministry of the Attorney General confirmed the charges against Valanciunas were withdrawn.
